Reduced environmental damage throughout the lifecycle

With our rental system we aim to create a circular process in which sustainable plastic pallets can be re-used again and again. When they wear out they are recycled many times over before they are eventually incinerated to recover energy.

This circular philosophy also influenced the design. In the transport sector, environmental and financial considerations are closely linked. Making better use of capacity, reducing the number of empty loads and cutting the weight to be carried produce lower emissions per kilometre and increase profitability. That is why the pallet has a space-saving design combined with light weight. It makes for a much better environmental performance throughout the lifecycle, from manufacture and use to recycling and scrapping.

Manufacture

The DACA pallet is made from recyclable HDPE. Each cycle takes in recovered material from discarded pallets.

Use

The DACA pallet is made to be durable and has a much longer useful life than conventional wooden pallets. Its light weight and space-saving design also mean that carbon dioxide emissions from transporting empty pallets are reduced. The DACA model also makes it possible to reduce the number of pallets in circulation, producing further savings in both material consumption and transport needs.

Recycling

When the pallet is worn out it can be recycled up to ten times. That gives the pallet a total service life of over ten years, minimising waste from the pallet flow. When the material is no longer any good for plastic pallets it can be used for other products or incinerated to recover energy. Sustainability is important to us.
